MEMBERSHIP

Membership Levels

The membership of the corporation shall consist of the members of the Board of Directors, and other membership outlined as follows:

Eligibility for Membership

Application for voting membership shall be open to any artist who feels they have something to contribute and are willing to meet eligibility requirements. Artists may include but are not limited to; any artist who creates art in 2D or 3D medium (ink, paint, glass, wood, leather, metal, stone, junk, clay etc), any artist who creates musical or literary arts, thespians, filmmakers, dancers, designers, or any other form of expressive modality that can be considered 'art'.

Priority shall be given to working artists that show consistent productivity, has worked to develop a reliable and good reputation among peers and/or clients, able to work well with others, and can provide at least three professional references that are not related by family.

Artists from the REGIONAL AREA may be given priority but applicants from any where in the country may apply. Applicants from other countries shall meet legal VISA requirements.

All artists who wish to become part of the managing or contributing membership shall provide a statement from a doctor or health department proving that the applicant is free from any communicable diseases. The notice shall be recent within 1 year. No felons or sex offenders. 

Board of directors may vote at all meetings open and closed.
All members are expected to refrain from illegal activity and illicit drug use while on the premises. There shall be no public intoxication during events and no illegal substances shall be allowed on the premises. Legal substances are welcome with the understanding that they should be used lawfully,responsibly and discretely.

Voting is open to qualified members that are at least 18 years of age.

Membership for managing, contributing, or supporting members may be granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and dues or deposits (if any) are paid in full.
All managing, contributing, or supporting memberships shall be granted upon a majority vote of the board. Temporary members may be approved by authorized personnel.

ARTICLE VI. MEMBERS

The classes, rights, privileges, qualifications, and obligations of members of this corporation are determined by the bylaws of this corporation.

FOUNDING MEMBERS

Founding members may lease and have access to certain buildings and areas needful to fulfill their purpose, duties and obligations. Founding members may be grandfathered at rates current to the date they entered the corporation. Founding members may have long term access as long as membership obligations are being met. Founding members may live part or full time on the resort as long as they are active participants in the functions of the organization.

Founding members may vote at open board meetings, and be included in meetings, polls and decisions that temporary and supporting members may not have access to. Next to board of directors, this is the the most actively involved membership level. Founding members may be called to special meetings that other members will not have access to. Founding members may have first right of refusal for openings in community building use if more than one member wishes to use a building for temporary exclusive access. Otherwise access to community buildings shall be on a first come first serve basis (whoever gets their name on the list first)

To schedule times for accessing and utilizing community buildings, requests shall be submitted to the secretary prior to the monthly meetings for approval. Scheduled times shall be posted in designated public areas and/or online community calendar. To gain access at a time that there are are no previously scheduled uses, a pass may be obtained by permission of any board member if a request is submitted in writing to the secretary within 24 hours of use.

Qualifications: In addition to normal monthly dues, founding members shall contribute at least $1,000 once annually or an equal value of service hours at the rate of barter exchange set by the organization. The equivalent of community service hours may be rendered in lieu of monetary contributions. If the founding member wishes to render services hours instead of monetary contributions, the hours shall be rendered before the annual meeting. After annual service hours are added up, the remaining services hours may paid in monetary contributions to bring the membership to a current status.

Founding members shall have NO felonies and NO communicable diseases, shall have at least three years experience in artistic or environmental skills and services, and shall have at least 3 professional references that are NOT related by blood or marriage. Membership shall be obtained by submitting an application to the secretary to be voted on by the board. Membership shall pass by simple majority vote, and be considered active once the first month's initial dues are paid in full. Annual dues must be completed by the annual meeting.

CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS

Contributing members may lease and have access to certain buildings and areas needful to fulfill their purpose, duties and obligations. Contributing members may be grandfathered at prices current to the date they entered the corporation. Contributing members may have short term or temporary access as long as obligations are being met. Contributing members may only access resort during designated hours. Example: Contributing members may lease a weekly studio space to teach day classes or hold workshops, or work on a project and be able to utilize community amenities. Contributing members may have third right of refusal for openings in community building use if more than one member wishes to use a building for temporary exclusive access. Otherwise access to community buildings shall be on a first come first serve basis (whoever gets their name on the list first). Monthly dues cover regular temporary day use of designated community amenities which can be accessed by submitting requests for use to the secretary prior to monthly meetings.

Contributing members may vote at specific open board meetings (meetings open to Contributing members shall be published online or in designated public areas at least one week prior to meeting)

Contributing members shall NOT live full-time on the resort but may be granted one over-night primitive camping experience per month, or use the 12 monthly nights in one accumulated stay, or several bundles. Example: Taking three different weekend camping experiences throughout the year that are a few days at a time.

To schedule times for accessing and utilizing community buildings, requests shall be submitted to the secretary prior to the monthly meetings for approval. Scheduled times shall be posted in designated public areas and/or online community calendar. To gain access at a time that there are are no previously scheduled uses, a pass may be obtained by permission of any board member if a request is submitted in writing to the secretary within 24 hours of use.

$300 once annually or an equal value of service hours at the rate of barter exchange set by the organization. The equivalent of community service hours may be rendered in lieu of annual monetary contributions. If the Contributing member wishes to render services hours instead of monetary contributions, the hours shall be rendered before the annual meeting. After annual service hours are added up, the remaining services hours may paid in monetary contributions to bring the membership to a current status. Monthly dues are based on the use of community buildings for exclusive use. Otherwise, outdoor amenities (for example: camping) are included in annual fees as outlined herein.

Membership shall be obtained by submitting an application to the secretary to be voted on by the board. Membership shall pass by simple majority vote, and be considered active once the first month's initial dues are paid in full. Annual dues must be completed by the annual meeting.

SUPPORTING MEMBERS

Supporting members may have limited access to certain buildings and areas during events at special rates. Supporting members shall pay a membership fee for the privilege of VIP access to designated areas otherwise not available to the general public during events, or may receive special discounts on certain events. Or, tickets sales for certain events with limited attendance will be made available for sale earlier than to temporary members. Example: First rights to rent a lot for an overnight event at a special rate, or get perks like prime parking or better seats at concerts, etc.

Supporting members may vote in the annual meeting.

Supporting membership includes two nights of complimentary primitive camping during 'off season' periods when ticketed events are not already scheduled. These two nights may be used together or at different times in designated areas.

Supporting members may apply to serve as volunteer staff during designated events in lieu of monetary contributions. These opportunities may be limited and will be selected by simple majority vote of the board or selected voting membership.

$150 once annually to be paid in full before access is granted. Membership shall be obtained by submitting an application to the secretary to be voted on by the board. Membership shall pass by simple majority vote, and be considered active once the dues are paid in full.

Qualifications: Open to the public.

TEMPORARY MEMBERS

Temporary members may be public guests who attend events, workshops or demonstrations. Temporary guests may purchase tickets or special passes to access certain areas for a limited time. Example: Purchases a day pass for an event in a designated area and time.

Temporary members may apply to serve as volunteer staff during designated events in lieu of monetary contributions. These opportunities may be limited and will be selected by simple majority vote of the board or selected voting membership.

Varied price levels will be available for each individual event, to be paid in full before access is granted. Tickets and passes may be purchased online or at a designated area during events.

Qualifications: Open to the general public.

This corporation is organized exclusively for charitable, religious, educational, and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.

All members who abide by the rules have equal opportunity to participate in any programs and events for which they qualify and shall not be discriminated against for race, religion, age, or sexual orientation.

ARTICLE IV. MEETINGS OF MEMBERS


Section 1. Regular Meetings
Regular meetings of qualified members shall be held once a month, at a time and place designated by the chair.
One full membership meeting shall be held each year for any members who choose to participate, at a time and place designated by the chair.

Section 2. Annual Meetings
An annual meeting of the members shall take place in the month of
November, the specific date, time and location of which will be designated by the chair. At the annual meeting the members shall elect directors and officers when candidacies are available, receive reports on the activities of the association, and determine the direction of the association for the coming year.

Section 3. Special Meetings
Special meetings may be called by the chair, the Executive Committee, or a simple majority of the board of directors. A petition signed by ten percent (10%) of voting members may also call a special meeting.

Section 4. Notice of Meetings Notice of meetings shall be published on the website and may be sent to member emails. Printed notice of each meeting may be placed in a marquee or bulletin board in an area designated by the chair.

Section 5. Quorum
A quorum for a meeting of the voting members shall consist of the majority of the active membership.

Section 6. Voting
All issues to be voted on shall be decided by a simple majority of those present at the meeting in which the vote takes place.
